Will the Toronto Blue Jays be a Playoff Team Come Deadline Time?

26-27, one game under five hundred, a position the Blue Jays have found themselves in many times. Will they continue to be a mediocre ball club? Or will they finally break through and be the team they’ve shown signs of this season? May 20th, the Blue Jays just lost a series to the Tigers, and have to face another tough team, the San Diego Padres. The Blue Jays would make it look easy, they’d outscore the Padres 24-6, shutting them out in 2 games winning one game 14-0, and completing a series sweep. This provided a lot of hope for the season, this is the type of team the Jays can be, the starters can shut you out, the lineup is dangerous one through nine, and the bullpen will shut you down for the last three innings. This did not last long.  May 24th, traveling to Florida with new hope to play the Rays and start a run to the playoffs, the Jays would score 2 runs all series including a 13-0 loss. All momentum gained from playing the Padres series is lost. It’s been like this a...

The Blue Jays are on a 5 Game Losing Streak.

The Blue Jays have lost five in a row and some of our worst fears from the 2023 and 2024 seasons are coming to light. After winning the first game at home vs Seattle and improving their record to 12-8 the Blue Jays are on a 5 game losing skid and now sit at 12-13. The Blue Jays have an off day to recover before heading to the Bronx for a three game set against the Yankees and hopefully put this streak behind them. You can’t win games if you can’t score, it’s hard to score without home runs, the Jays struggled to hit home runs in 2023 and 2024 they struggled to win. This trend has continued into 2025, and again they’ve struggled to score and win consistently.  Will the Jays struggles continue or will they be able to turn it around, start hitting the longball, and start winning? It’s no question we’re still early into the season, but it’s not just this season the Jays had this problem. They were 16th in the MLB with 188 homers in 2023, 26th with 156 in 2024, and now sit 29th i...

The Toronto Blue Jays Fall Short of 4 Game Sweep Versus Division Rival Red Sox

After a tough start to a road trip being swept in 3 by the Mets in New York the Toronto Blue Jays traveled to Boston and won a 4 game series against the division rival Red Sox. The Blue Jays started their season hot with a 5-2 homestand but would immediately go back to .500 after being swept by the Mets in New York. So they traveled to Boston hoping for a bounce back, and they would winning 3 out of 4 at Fenway, improving their record to 8-6, but falling short of a sweep in extras today. The first two games were great for the Blue Jays. They scored 6 runs in both games and starters  José Berríos and Easton Lucas were great. Starting Pitching would be great in games 3 and 4 as well

What Should We Expect from Alejandro Kirk in the 2025 Season?

February is here and after a long offseason that means just one thing, spring training is here. Players start to report to camp and get back into the swing of things. However one Blue Jay spent the majority of his offseason at the Blue Jays player development complex in Dunedin. That player? Alejandro Kirk who usually spends the offseason at home in Mexico.  Alejandro Kirk had an all star season in 2022, a season in which he would also win the silver slugger for catchers and cement himself as a key part in a Blue Jay catching duo of himself and Danny Jansen. However Kirk has struggled since the 2022 season and hasn't posted an OPS over 700 since his breakout season. However with Danny Jansen getting traded at the 2024 deadline and the Blue Jays not signing another catcher in free agency Kirk finds himself in a position to start 120+ games behind the plate.  Kirk has always been a great defensive catcher, in the 2022 and 2023 seasons Kirk was above the 90th percentile on ...
